Funding for Research & Development
The development on UrbanBEATS has been funded by numerous projects in the past and present including the EU-FP7 Project PREPARED Enabling Change, the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, Monash University’s PhD Scholarship Programme and the Monash University Faculty of Engineering in its first years of development. UrbanBEATS is currently supported by two Australian Research Council Projects including ARC LP160100241: “Advancing water pollution emissions modelling in cities of the future” and ARC DE17010042: “Virtual reality for planning of green urban water infrastructure”.
Research on various projects that led to the development and improvement of UrbanBEATS has also been recognised through the following:
- 2015 – The Eric Laurenson Medal, awarded by the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities and Monash University
- 2014 – Runner up for the Poul Harremoes award at the 13th International Conference on Urban Drainage, Sarawak, Malaysia
